The beautiful small woodblock print ‘Itsukushima Jinja to Goju no Tou’ (Itsukushima Shrine and Pagoda, Miyajima) is by Osamu Ueda (b. 1947). This print captures the majestic shrine and pagoda, surrounded by lush greenery in Miyajima, with vibrant and captivating colors.

Osamu Ueda was born in 1947 in Hiroshima Prefecture. The artist has an unusual background, having graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at Hiroshima University. He and his father, Isao Ueda (b.1924), held an exhibition together at the Kure Municipal Museum of Art. Both father and son are known for their warm artistic style.
