Bobby Timons, le compositeur de Moanin’, était le pianiste des Jazz Messengers, le groupe du batteur Art Blakey. Sa composition est devenue l’emblème du Hard Bop. Ce titre à caractère gospel et soul-jazz procure une excellente occasion de travailler les phrasés au piano, car il s’agit d’imiter les inflexions des chanteurs de gospel sur un clavier pour exprimer au mieux le lyrisme de cette musique. 

En plus de la partition, vous trouverez des conseils sur les “gruppettos, les nuances, l’impro, les phrasés, etc…

Pour bien jouer le jazz, il faut être un « danseur » et un “conteur” dans l’âme!
